Only one hour’s drive from the campsite is the region’s capital. Bordeaux, UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s wine capital is an amazing place, with a rich history and some remarkable architecture. By the way, Bordeaux has been voted the most exciting city destination in 2017 by Lonely Planet.
If you prefer to stay in the closest area, what about some shopping? Carcans Plage, Maubuisson and Lacanau Océan offer some charming beach boutiques. Lacanau Océan is also a great place to discover the nightlife and have a night out clubbing.

Lacanau Océan and its restaurants and boutiques
Only 10km from Carcans Plage, many shops, bars and restaurants await you at Lacanau Océan. The resort is known for its nightlife and its flagship surfing event, the Lacanau Pro, which takes place every year in August.
